A Month's Update
Yes, It's been a month since I last blogged here. Maybe because I didn't feel like blogging or maybe...I've been busy with my BRAND NEW BLOG!
To note, I'm not replacing this blog with that one. Fenunio (this one) will still stay right here where it belongs (until I say otherwise). The new blog has a more focus subject - my hobbies and interests.
It has a cheesy name but what the heck.
Ok, on to the updates.
Plenty of stuff happened the past month that's worth mentioning. Here they are:
- 13th March '09. There was a fund raising concert at my Uni. dubbed "Heal The World" - and the kids at Sound And Music Academy made a song with the same name too. I just hope MJ won't come here and sue us or anything because our Uni. is downgraded enough already.
- Chantelle didn't believe me when I said I haven't watched Double Exposure since episode 3. I'm serious la! I'm so busy and my internet sucks. I do plan to download the whole show one day though...one day.
- Had an interesting chat with one of my lecturers. A real wake-up call that was.
- Verina came all the way from Singapore just to cancel her deferment in Limkokwing and get her $$$ back. Decided she'd continue studying in SG.
- Drawing class will be my first this week since I attended it about a month ago. Reason is because I'm so scared my lecturer would find out I draw like in pre-school. OK, I'll give myself some credit. Like in elementary school.
- Last week, my Design Studies lecturer repeatedly rejected my proposals on a company logo. He keeps showing us examples of all these companies that have simple, clean and direct-to-the-point logo and that's exactly what I did, and I like it (which is rare for me). He's reaction was a little of the opposite though - "too empty". He began redesigning my logo until it looks like one of those logos with too much detail when he himself said "Logos must be simplified!". Is he expecting me to design one of those conservative logos that in my point of view is ugly and does not point out to most demographics? I'm a person who welcomes criticism with reasonable arguments. Don't just give me "too empty" and expect me to feel okay with it. For god's sake, your a design professional not just some client. He didn't even care to ask why I designed it in that certain way. *sigh*
- I wasn't even being emotional above. I know I should have said it to him but I'm yet to evaluate if he's the kind of person who's emotion interferes with his career. If that's the case, I might get a bad grade for all the wrong reasons. I'm just opting for the worst case scenario.
- Helped Chantelle booked flight tickets for her and her friend on a wonderful Borneo holiday this July - and I'm their tour guide during their stay in Kota Kinabalu!
- I'm helping Chantelle's housemate sell a very overpriced product! I'm asking myself "How the hell did I agree to that?" Her salesperson sweet talk did get to me a little though - if I had money then, I would've bought it. One of those times I say to myself "Thank God, I'm broke". That would've been a flush down the toilet. Still, I gave her my word and Chantelle has gone beyond help in helping me take photos of it.
- Since I can't seem to get any motivation in my current class, I plan to create a competitive atmosphere without directly involving me in the process (let's face it, I'm not that much of a good designer). I've been reading a book on misdirection recently and I might use some of those tricks hehe...nay!
- My parents agreed to give me a fixed monthly allowance - at last - after I told them that I hate it when every time I called it's mostly about money. Yes, I'm the one who said it, not them LOL. I want to call them because I want to, not because I have to.
