KL Design Week Conference

Recently I had the chance to attend a 3-day conference during the Kuala Lumpur Design Week – Typographics conference, Creative Magazines Symposium and Super Ani/Motion Conference.

I can’t thank British Council Malaysia enough for picking me as a winner for their typography design contest. If it wasn’t for them, I would have never been able to attend the event; The three day conference costs RM1500!

Pretty lookin' conference pass too.

Told my boss I had to skip work because of a flu just so I could attend the event. That was true though, I couldn’t stop sneezing and took the liberty to sit a few seats away from other visitors.

Most of the talks were very interesting. I personally liked Feng Zhu’s presentation on all the concept designs he’s done for big Hollywood projects like Avatar, Star Wars and Transformers. Can’t believe KLDW was able to get hold of someone so huge. He had to leave immediately after his speech though so I couldn’t forward my questions during the round table session.

Round-table sessions at the end of the day.

At the end of the weekend, I had a blast. Got to meet and exchanged thoughts with a lot of talented designers that made me feel so small in a crowd of artistic people; Which is great by the way - keeps my humility intact.

Hope to come again next year.**fingers crossed**
