It’s Here!
About a month ago I won 500 business cards from Web Designer Depot courtesy of Uprinting…and they finally arrived yesterday! But I didn’t get the promised 500 pieces…
but 625 pieces instead! THANK YOU WDD and UPrinting – and I’m not even paid to say that!
This was actually last minute work. When I received the email stating that I won, I was given about two weeks to come up with a design and submit it to them for printing. But at that time I was too lazy to bother. Being me, I didn’t start anything until 4 hours before deadline. I think it would’ve come out much better if I invested more time on it.
Being a huge fan of typography and the golden mean principles which most of my artworks are based on, I designed this stationery around those methods. I couldn’t remember if I had a clear concept when I did this two weeks ago (so much has happened since then, my head’s gone haywire) but I had a great tagline (I think) so that pretty much helped.
I am an advocate of minimalism and simplicity, and though a lot of my fellow student designers and even lecturers….and my boss (who said it’s boring)! thinks otherwise, we have to admit:
Simplicity sells. Just look at our friends there at Apple (though I despise their business practices).
